A Touch Screen Kiosk Designed to Honour Local Service Members in Queensland, Australia
In an effort to connect the local community with heroes of the past, Balonne Shire Council recently commissioned three touch screen kiosks. One of the Kiosks is located at the St, George library in Queensland Australia. The other two are installed at two other indoor locations within Balonne Shire Visitors Information Centre St George & Dirranbandi RTC. These digital touch screen kiosks alphabetically display names of local service men and women. Community members can also search for specific service members by using the interactive keyboard displayed on the kiosk screen. Once community members select a service member to read about, the digital information kiosk showcases the service person’s history and a QR code that directs community members to the national archives for further information. Additional information will also be added by the dedicated library staff.

Using the Latest Touch Screen Technology to Engage and Educate the Community
Overall, this touch screen kiosk offers community members in Balonne Shire Council the opportunity to recognise the sacrifices and contributions of local service men and women in the area. This interactive display not only preserves the legacy of those who served, but also educates and engages the community. This interactive display is sure to foster a deeper appreciation for the bravery and dedication of local service men and women for years to come.
